Steven Cory
My career has been focused on internet applications, relational databases, programming,
networking and telecommunication equipment. I have coded programs and scripts which
attach to a database using Structured Query Language commands (PHP, ASP, Microsoft Access,
Visual FoxPro, FoxBase, dBase and Informix). I have administered
LINUX servers running
Redhat Enterprise AS, as well as
Microsoft Windows2000 Server. I have advanced
experience with all of the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
and have been responsible for more than a hundred users and workstations. I have done
technical presentations, desk-side and telephone support. I am currently involved in scripting web
applications which use common code for the CSCC
website. I helped with web content accessibility guidelines for the
NECTAC website. I developed and maintained the
Division TEACCH website from 1999 through 2005 using
Visual FoxPro, HTML, Javascript,
PERL and CGI.
I have knowledge of the UNC
computing environment and been involved in several software
development projects and testing. I have obtained excellent technical writing and
communication skills. I also meet the physical requirements needed to relocate systems.

spreadsheets into webpages.
Applications Analyst Programmer I
November 1996 - March 2000
I was developing applications to collect field data, using
FoxPro 2.5b to be analyzed for collaborative
studies for the Department of Biostatistics. Also, using
Visual FoxPro 5.0 to export the departments
personnel information from
Excel 5.0 and convert the data into Hyper Text Markup Language for on-line
directories and calendars.
Systems Programmer
August 1995 - October 1996
I developed applications used by hospitals and doctor offices/practices on an IBM platform using an
AIX-UNIX operating system with an INFORMIX On-Line 5.0 data base engine. The applications
were developed using fourth generation language (4GL), extended source query language (E/SQL),
C-language programs, and UNIX shells. Most projects involved interfacing with external systems.
ASCII flat files were generated using data in the Informix tables, then C-based sockets and TCP/IP
protocol were used to handshake with streaming data buffers.
The Signature Group :: Schaumburg, IL
Systems Programmer / Developer
December 1991 - August 1995
As part of a telemarketing system development team, creating forms and user interfacing to perform database
functions, run-time/on-line monitoring, and network utilities for uploading inventory databases, downloading
enrollments, and switching disposition reports. A SunClassic client was tied to a Sun SparcStation-20
server, running Solaris 2.0, running INFORMIX On-Line 5.0 Engine, Informix-4GL executables and E/SQL.
A SummaFour dialer was used to place the calls. The initial project had a text based graphical user interface on a
Compaq-386 platform, running SCO/Xenix, with a FoxBase database through an EIS dialer.
Other languages used: NewEra, ViewPoint Pro, Window Developers Kit, SoftC and Turbo C.
Member of Technical Staff I
May 1991 - December 1991
Returning to Bell Labs, to make use of my past 5ESS experience and some ISDN knowledge, I was involved
on a project doing Digital Subscriber loop-back testing. The tool ran basic rate interface BRI packet switch
tests on the AT&T customer premises equipment CPE.
Member of Technical Staff - Level 13
September 1990 - May 1991
Using previous ACD experience, I assisted in the development of a DNIS feature and maintained the Report Manager
software in a system network of PCs, connected via a CompuTone circuit, running SCO/UNIX, Curses
and X-Windows to display real-time statistics and graphic charts of call activity and system performance.
The displays were created using data, compiled and stored in the host by a private packet protocol, from a STARLOG2 ACD
as the calls were being processed.
Member of Technical Staff - Level 3
January 1990 - September 1990
Having telephone testing experience, I was given the opportunity to automate the system tests using an AutoTester on a
portable PC, for the Collins GALAXY7 ACD. I performed Q.921 and Q.931 ISDN compatibility tests using an
IDACOM protocol analyzer. I worked with the system performance department in developing an X.25 multiple
logical channel feature for the M68000 based Rockwell SCX.
Senior Designer / Technical Associate
July 1980 - January 1990
Development of 5ESS software for the peripheral control of the Line Unit, using an interactive test system, which would
disassemble, trace and debug code for a M68000 by trapping on control and distribute orders. I learned WAN,
LAN, and X.75. I automated data additions for the 5ESS using an SQL form editor and UNIX
shells. I performed environmental/stress/EMC tests, circuit pack and VLSI test programs.
